Oh man.
I remember waking up in the morning and going to swim at the outdoor olympic pool with a buoy between my legs. I had a fruity towel from Jussco and unbreakable speedo goggles. It was either swimming or running along the track that overlooked the bay and mountains. The pitch! I remember work outs at 11am. So consistent. Even the girls would come and I remember when they tried to bench. We'd all head over the LG5 or LG1 or the Cafe for lunch afterwards. I remember we'd go by spurts. LG1 was so the first month, then LG5, and then it was a lot of the Cafe near the end. Mmmm can't you taste the peanut butter french toast? Or the Roast Beef Toasties? What about shake shake fries? mango dipped ice cream?!? MAN. dim sum. Custard buns and shrimp dumpling. We'd all spread out afterwards and go to classes. MWF was MGTO 235 and MGTO 321. TR was MARK 329J and MARK 251. I can't believe I still remember the class numbers. 235 was always nerve wrecking. I always wanted to see my name/team at the top on Wednesday. 251 was fun during presentations because the Europeans would always rip apart the local students during presentations. We'd finish at 5 or so and sometimes head to the library to do some intense studying. Remember tetrinet? and how geeky we were? massive lan parties in the library distracting everyone around us? We claimed that upper floor. Dinner at LG5 - LG1 is nothing compared to LG1 for dinner. Curry porkchop like 80% of the time. With milk tea. We'd get two tables together and call everyone to head over. The dumplings and chickensticks were good. More ice cream afterwards. And then the night started. Either more studying, group projects, paper writing, or reading. Taboo, Mafia, and even friggin Spoons if we were staying indoors. I remember how Monopoly brought all of us together. I remember the 8th floor to my hall and how it had the big screen tv with couches. I remember Office Space. Like very clear. We watched that at UG6. UG6. Everyone crashed at the second floor. But remember that security guard that kept peeking in on the naked scenes to Love Actually? Anyway, I hardly went out to ladies night on Thursday but I do remember the handful of times we went. Ooo the fringe club. Who still has their membership? I never got to go to Dragoneye or that one where you go up the steps where the girls played never have I ever. JC65: that was nuts. I don't think we'll ever forget Star Wars. I liked walking around LKF. It felt American. Honestly. I think I could go on forever. I remember bargaining for a man bag in Mongkok. I remember going to Causeway Bay three days in a row. Karaoke at 2am made me feel American too. Hi Chews. MTR. Swinging on the poles like a monkey. We craved attention sometimes. Getting yelled at on the minibusses. Sai Kung. Kayaking. So much Indian food. It was so good. NAAN. Octopus Cards. Giant, giant buddha. I have around 5GB of pictures. Kero-kero-keropi. Genki sad face. Drama gossip drama - tasty. bbq. smores. i didn't think sausages existed. that massive bbq towards the end. i hated doing laundry. i had little dogs on my bedsheet. AC running every night. Seeing Metallica cover band during that first week. Porter's 5 forces. She wins all the time. Touch football. The locals never saw a football before. Hang Seng Bank was nice. Esprit haircut. ECC. Deep deep stuff. Guitar for hours afterwards at Tom Lee. 6 dollar sushi. 7.7 conversion rate. Artistic pictures. Radio show every Monday(?) Sand mermaids. Swimming in the bay. The banking center at mongkok(?). Bargaining for tickets - shoot me. I still have my Information Systems jersey. This is when I got into Jack's Mannequin and Cartel. I thank everyone for the tshirt help. Clique sweatshirts too. A dozen goodbye dinners. Happy corners. XTC. Star Ferry. Remember Thanksgiving w/ Egyptian food? Finally being able to get into the Mandarian Oriental. Mangos.
Getting off that mini bus when it swung around the cul de sac. It would be dark. We'd walk along the path on the left.. mmmm
